Traveling Cheap for the Young and Broke: Got Wheels? – Step XI

Walking long distances can be inspiring, but the truth is that most of us just don’t have enough time off to do that. The next best option, and also incredibly affordable, is to ride a bike. Whether you ride the whole trip or take your bike with you on a bus, train or car, it can add so much to the experience.
Like any other mode of transportation, do your research and plan well. Be sure to have your bike in top maintenance and carry a toolkit, spare tire, pump, patches or anything else you may need. Review bike trails and best routes along roadways for your safety.
Here are a few places to help you get started:

So far, I have taken my bike with me on my car trips to enjoy parks and trails. It’s a great way to get in some exercise after driving for long hours. It’s also a way to slow down a bit and enjoy the surroundings.
What is your favorite bike trip? Ready for a new adventure?
Happy trails!
