30 Day Challenge to Invest in Yourself First – Day #9

Isn’t it interesting to observe how quickly things can change? Once you have a clear sense of what you want to accomplish and begin to share your vision with others, things begin to happen. Sometimes the changes are personal. Changes in the way we invest our time and focus, or changes in choices and activities.

As you continue along this journey towards financial wellness, investing at least 5% of your TIME each week in yourself, test out different ways to track your progress. It is really instrumental to track your progression  – from creating a vision to taking the first steps to lessons learned along the way. By capturing the actual process you will be able to reflect back on it for insights and growth.

Tracking needs to be visual. Some people prefer to draw, use colors and images to capture their journey. Others prefer to keep a small journal, capturing thoughts, feelings and milestones that matter most. I’ve seen a wide range of excel spreadsheets and charts that track multiple inputs and results. It’s not about complexity or creativity, but documenting your story in a way that is most meaningful to you.

Each goal needs to have specific metrics that you are seeking to accomplish. Track your results consistently and make notes about any unique circumstances that helped you do better or that got in your way. The more you understand what works best for you, the better your results will be. Keep tracking. Stay engaged and alert.

Feel free to share what tools you use to track. It’s great to hear from others.
